Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio

The most known and probably one of the most visited places of Costa Rica is Manuel Antonio National Park with 683 hectares of land and about 55 000 hectares of sea. The Park was created by law in November 1972.

The park is considered to be one of the most beautiful of Costa Rica and is visited by a huge amount of tourist, both nationals and Internationals. "Punta Catedral" is a very characteristic point of this area. It used to be an island but due to accumulations of sediments it got united with the mainland. The park protects primary and secondary forests, beach vegetation and a marine ambient.

The park is located in a very humid zone. The rainy season is from August to October.

Among an immense variety of vegetation you find over 100 species of mammals and over 180 species of birds. There are plenty of Tour Operators and Certified Guides that will help you to discover the beauties hidden in this park.


Beaches

Espadilla Beach

Abundant tropical vegetation surrounds the 3.6 km shore and beautiful views also make it one of the most attractive beaches. Dark sand -water temperatures are between 25 and 27 centigrades ((77-81 F) the whole year round.

Manuel Antonio Beach

"You verbally fall out of the bus or your car in the sands of the beach. If you fill hungry, you can visit one of out recommended restaurants in Manuel Antonio.

Isla Damas Beach

On 6.7 km (4.2 miles)mangroves, wetland, straight shoreline invites to long beach walks. Inexperienced swimmers should take have the necessary respect for the high waves and strong tides. It is not recommended to get away to far from the shore
